NON-Alcoholic Beverages at Oga’s Cantina- A Family Friendly Review

Updated: Sep 16, 2021

Oga’s Cantina is a dining location located within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in both Disneyland Park California and Hollywood Studios/ Walt Disney World in Florida. The Disney website calls it a “notorious local watering hold to partake in unique libations for all ages.” In my opinion it is one of the most immersive experiences in the park- walking in you feel like you are part of a Star Wars film! The cast members play their part well, and the bar has a lot of eye candy and unusual things to look at!

A few things to note about this experience:

*Reservations are recommended: I have found this location harder to get, so make sure you are ready to grab your reservation 60 days before your vacation!

* The do have walk up seating when available- you can ask at the kiosk in front of the Cantina.

*Inside it is LOUD: there is a DJ droid playing music and it is very much a busy cantina. If you are looking for a cozy, quiet dining spot to take a break, this is NOT it.

*Drinks are the main focus of the Cantina. While there are some small snacks available to enjoy with your libations, you aren’t going to fill up here for lunch/dinner.

*Most of the seating inside is standing at a bar top. There is bar top space at the actual bar station, and there are also standing tables around the room. There are a few booths where you are able to sit, but they are usually reserved for larger parties, and requesting one usually means a longer wait (sometimes the wait is worth it for a seat in an air-conditioned room).

Is Oga’s Cantina kid friendly? I would say YES! My kids actually beg to go here every time we go, and would go multiple times if we let them. The ambiance is amazing, the drinks unique, and DJ-R-3X is fun to watch. My seven year old can stand at the bar with us and does fine with her height- but if I had a toddler, I would probably ask to sit.

If you are looking for a review of the adult menu, I cannot help you with that! I don’t do alcohol—but if you are looking for a review of the non-alcoholic concoctions offered, I can help you! We definitely have our favorites!

There are SEVEN non-alcoholic beverages available:

*Hyperdrive: Powerade Moutain Berry Blast, White Cranberry Juice, Black Cherry Puree, and Sprite

*Blurrgfire: Minute Maid Lemonade, Pomegranate Juice, and Habanero-Lime

*Black Spire Brew: Cold Brew Coffee, Honey, Falernum, Passion Fruit, and Citrus

*Cliff Dweller: Citrus Juices, Hibiscus-Grenadine, and Ginger Ale, in souvenir cup

*Jabba Juice: Simply Orange with Pineapple, Kiwi, Cantaloupe, and Blueberry Popping Pearls

*Carbon Freeze: Powerade Lemon Lime, Wild Strawberry, Blueberry, and Green Apple Popping Pearls

*Blue Bantha: blue milk served chilled with Vanilla Butter Sugar Cookie

My personal favorite is the Jabba Juice! It is very sweet, but the flavor is good, and the popping pearls are a nice touch. I would say this is a pretty kid friendly option. If your child likes orange juice, they will like this drink!

My kids also like the Hyperdrive and the Carbon Freeze. The base of both drinks is Powerade. They aren’t quite as sweet as the Jabba Juice and have good flavor.

My husband and I liked the Habanero-Lime kick of the Blurrgfire, but my kids don’t care for it.

Blue milk is available elsewhere in Galaxy’s Edge- although this is the only place you get milk and cookies! If it were me, I would skip the blue milk here and try some of the more unique offerings at Oga’s Cantina instead.

The Cliff Dweller is NOT sweet. If you try and sip this after drinking one of these other drinks, it will taste pretty sour! The Ginger Ale taste is prominent. Because this drink has a hefty price tag ($35), we will probably not get it again. When we were at Disney World a few months ago, our wait brought us the drink without the mug- but our waiters in Disneyland told us that wasn’t an option. If you don’t love the Porg mug, I would skip it.

We have not tried the Black Spire Brew, so I can’t review that one.
