Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort

ree

Happy Halloween Hauntings! Spooky Season is alive and well at the Disneyland Resort. I make it no secret that this is my FAVORITE time of year to visit- Disney Halloween Time is as festive and fun as it gets! Why should you visit the Parks during the Fall? Let’s chat about the many extra offerings that will make your trip ghoulishly magical.

Dates: Disneyland Halloween Time runs from September 3 – October 31st 2021 at the Disneyland Resort. You will have offerings available at both Disneyland Park and California Adventure.

* Characters in Costume & Festive Décor

Snap some pictures and wave to Mickey and his friends in their best Halloween attire. Classic Disney characters dressed as bats, skeletons, witches, and ghosts can be found around the resort, as well as visits from some of your favorite Disney villains. Jack Skellington and Sally can be found waving to guests from the Haunted Mansion and in New Orleans Square – this is the only time of year you will see them out and about like this!

Oogie Boogie guards the gate to California Adventure, and the Headless Horseman statue spooks guests on Buena Vista Street. Pumpkin Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy greet guests as they enter Disneyland Park, and don’t forget to get you photo with the giant Mickey Pumpkin at the top of Main Street. The Main Street Pumpkin Festival is alive and well, with many handcarved pumpkins around the park.

*Haunted Mansion Holiday in Disneyland Park

Two holidays collide during Halloween Time at the Haunted Mansion. Pumpkin King Jack Skellington has busily decked the halls with frightful touches to celebrate the season. This is my favorite ride overlay that Disney does! The attention to detail and the theming is amazing! The giant themed gingerbread cake they do every year in the ballroom is always something to see. Make sure you take the time to ride this one at night- there is something extra fun and spooky about enjoying this attraction in the dark!

*Radiator Screams in California Adventure

Cars Land in California Adventure also gets a very festive makeover- there are so many fun things to see and discover. Even the cozy cones get in the holiday spirit. Costumed cars characters can be seen cruising around town. Two rides receive a fun holiday overlay – Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween and Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree. Both rides have awesome holiday music and some extra Halloween fun. Don’t forget to stop at the entrance to Cars Land for your Halloween Photo op!

*Guardians of the Galaxy: Monsters After Dark at California Adventure

Don’t miss this fun version of Guardians of the Galaxy! The line closes at 2pm to let the standard version line go through and prepare for “Monsters After Dark” that begins at 3pm. Join Rocket in a race to distract the monsters and rescue Groot- a little scarier for kids, but lots of fun!

*Halloween Screams Fireworks at Disneyland Park

Jack Skellington and his ghost dog Zero are the master of ceremonies for a “Spooktacular” evening fireworks event. They are joined by projections of some of Disney’s best villains set to Halloween music. Watch the fireworks in front of the castle, on Main Street, or see the projections at It’s a Small World. Fireworks are weekends only, but see the projections other nights of the week. Check the entertainment schedule for exact times and offerings.

*Oogie Boogie Bash

This is a separate, ticketed event held select nights in September and October (it is sold out for 2021). These parties are so fun! Kids and kids at heart dress in their Halloween best for a night of short attraction wait times, trick or treat trails, and the Frightfully Fun Parade. One of the most unique offerings of Oogie Boogie Bash is the Villains Grove Experience, including sound, color, and special effects.

*Plaza de la Familia

At Paradise Gardens in California Adventure you can enjoy an experience inspired by Disney/Pixar’s Coco, a celebration of the lasting bonds of family. You can enjoy A Musical Celebration of Coco, meet the film’s main character Miguel, and post messages to your loved ones on the memory wall. Music, crafts and a colorful décor make this a fun place to visit!

*Dia de los Muertos

Visit Frontierland for a tribute to Dia de los Muretos. This holiday is time to remember loved ones that have passed and remember our connections. Come visit the iconic skeleton figures, as well as brightly colored flowers and decorations.
